out after the clouds again,Tuesday night Alport Heights

had a ride out up to Alport heights near Wirksworth  great place for views and sunsets if conditions are ok , With views over Staffordshire and Cheshire

this was a very popular place years ago for week end outings for people living local nr to this view point , i myself can remember walking from Belper to here with a bottle of pop and some sandwiches
which mum would pack up for me and off we would go for the day , Great days we had
panoramic view of the stone over looking Staffordshire
great cloud formations can be seen from up here and great sun sets to be had as well ,

Friday night out with the clouds again

it gets to you this photography lark ,  Off over the fields I've got this little place where i go at different times of the year to take photos of the seasons so off i went ,
It was like a jungle don't think any body had used it for months but i got to my place after a struggle in shoulder high grass ant thistles ,I noticed not much insect life about  which it usually alive with butterflies, soldier beetles ,spiders and other bugs,
first photo of the night  with Alport Heights on the horizon
one of the photos i took over looking Belper into Staffordshire   nice red sky on the horizon  with sunbeams coming through the clouds

theres always a different photo to take when taking clouds shots ,Im no expert on this type of photography but i just like taking these sort of photos , The colours ,shapes ,And just being out in this great country side we have ,this is about 10 minutes walk from where i live ,
Would love to do some night photos from here on a clear night , who knows what and when this will happen but I'm going to do it
             Hope you enjoyed this article
                     take care all

    Cloud chasing again

This landscape photography really gets to you ,
while driving back home from the Wednesday night meeting i spotted a few interesting things
i thought would make a good photo ,
so Thursday night got the camera and drove up to Tansley nr Matlock for some field photos i had spotted  but other things caught my eye a great cloud gathering over the hills with beams of sun light coming through

this what i saw and took ,was looking at the field of crops when i saw this
I've been wanting a shot like this for some time since getting the bug for landscape
just pleased i went out and got these also i did manage a crop shot of the field i was after
i found this one on the way back home from photographing the clouds , the locations i saw Wednesday night  wasn't all that good for what i wanted, A bit of trimming some grass away from the wall and holding holding a tree branch out of the way with one hand a bit awkward while taking the photo with the other hand , still it worked
once again thanks for viewing i enjoyed taking these photos hope you enjoyed viewing them
take care all  , and have a great week end

  Lumbsdale ponds and falls

Wendsday night with Beaurepaire photo club,

another great night was had once again fine weather and a great talk and walk  led by Julian and Janice ,
i have visited Lumbsdale falls many times but never from where we started last night from Highfield School just off the Matlock to Chesterfield road  ,
this was one of the first sights to see walking through the wood down to the first pond  a lovely walk amongst the woodland greenery

cottages before the first pond,These was erected in 1749 to house two furnaces to smelt lead ,
In 1789 the plant was out of use and the plant was converted in to cottages to house cotton workers
                                                           the middle pond
                                                       the lower pond
One of the water falls of Lumbsdale there are four of them
photos of the old buildings which where part of the mills , bleach house
                                                     the smithy
remains of part of one of the work buildings ,
great work from the Arkwright society who keeps this site in great condition
another great night with the group thanks go to Ian Gregory for organising this great night out
