Sun, first ice and snow, Derwent Dams

Had a trip up to the Derwent Dams it wasn't planned just got in the car and drove 
First stop was a photo of Riber castle on the hilltop in the mist taken fro Tansley , then it was of to i didn't know where just followed my nose 
Finished up at the Derwent Dams and what a great morning
Blue sky , frost and ice plus snow on the roads up there 
 fell in taking this shot but its one part of the game 





 Then it was back to Hathersage  for a nice mug of coffee and a sausage cob and a warm

On my way back i called at another one of my favourite  places i found some time ago
  That was it for the day , thanks for viewing ,going back up there again for a return visit theres that much to see and take photos of

A lovely Night for sunset photos

Out in the car first stop Butterly res just to try some thing out, When i got there for got what was going to try out but enjoyed taking the photos
 Just one of the shots i took , 
 Then it was of to Alport heights for the sunset ,
What a sunset just had to wait for the sun to loose its power and go behind a cloud, Over looking Derby from Alport

Always some great photos to be had up at Alport
On the way back on the way home had to pull in to let this lady horse rider pass as i was there i spotted this tree
Then as i looked round i saw this sight couldn't resist this one 
   had a great time , who knows what tomorrow will bring

High edge , Earl stern dale 

 And boy was it cold 5 minutes out the car in the open fingers froze up it was dam cold ,But worth some great cloud photos and sun shine

What a sight just like a sleeping Dragon theres some lovely scenes in the peak district , I had a great morning out round this area and will certainly be returning as there was more to photograph

Dark side of the moon 

Sunday night moon shot ,got Dark side of the moon playing on the iPod so got to have a photo of the moon i had watched it coming up so waited till it a was nice dark sky and a-presto

Monday morning ride up to Buxton 

A few photos from our ride out to Buxton ,Parked up and had a walk through the Pavillon gardens theres was a bit of frost still on the ground and also snow ,Sunny but a cold chill but what can you expect  for the middle of Febuary

one of the many small water falls in the pavilion gardens a lovely place to spend a hour or so 


I have always fancied a photo of this walk up there since i have been visiting Buxton and today i got it 

This is round the other side from the first photo of the walks , 
 Theres just some think about photos like this i like taking and so do a lot more photographers do , after this it was off shopping with the other half  for a hour or so which i enjoyed , 
   If you read this and visit Buxton i can recommend a great little eating place Charlottes restaurant its just in the little walk through in the old spar buildings where the old baths used to be a little arcade of shops the steak and ale pie is a must with hand cut potato wedges ,peas and gravy great service great staff 
        And tomorrow its out again don't know where but some where nice i hope

over the hills and far away

To finish the week off i had a ride up to Higger Tor and Carl Wark above Hathersage in the Peak district , great day sunshine and some great clouds 
What a sight to see these ancient iron age forts 
Over looking the Hope valley and Edale 

This was the middle of February sun was out but great clouds where rolling over the Hope valley, 
   Its a great place up in the peak district always some to see

out and about near home 

Wingfield manor near Crich went past this and stopped for a quick photo

this little brook is about 10 minutes walk from my house hidden in the under growth not just one of these little gems but about 4 of these which join into one ,, going back in a few days to do some clearing up cutting back brambles,and a few branches to trim and a few rocks in the stream to make some features

out and about again ,this time around dove dale

 then it was off to some think i had in mind from when i used to go fly fishing and walking in the dales round the river Dove
this foot bridge over the river Dove always was in my mind from when i first got interested in landscape photography
next day i was off cloud chasing again this time it was Riber Castle set above Matlock with some storm clouds approaching from the snow clad hills of the peak district in the back ground
another place i had my eye on for some time was waiting for a nice sun set over the res but just had a new 10 stop filter so thought yes it would be a great time to use it
 Got some think else planned for here but that will come later got to get some plans made first
