Back for the owls ,

But they didn't want to play , But is was still a great morning with great company ,

the moon when i arrived for the owls this morning about 7-30

This friendly robin stayed with us most of the morning while we waiting for the owls to show 

Im not coming out today ,i think he was trying to tell us some think 

 but a great morning ,every one was cheerful and having a good laugh

Christmas eve sunset

Had a ride up to Alport heights near Wirksworth when it had cleared up from the rain for the sun set it was worth braving the cold and wind , before that called at the feeding station to feed up for the birds and wild life ,

And nice to see a fow we stood staring at one another for about 3-4 minutes i didn't want to make a move in case i scared it ,any way off he went looking back at me ,i wished him merry christmas and hoped to see him again 

 Then it was up to Alport for this photo

had a go at doing star trails  first time , Saw one of Ians photo at Crich stand and got the bug so back garden it was 

23 photos in one shot bit of a hard job to get them right but got there and going to have another go at it when its another clear night but a different location got some ideas so roll on the next clear night

A morning down at Belper weir and mill

Had a trip down to Belper mill and weir  ,trying the 10 stop out and different filters out and getting in the mood for some more landscape

Using the 10 stop filter , Belper weir and bridge , i have seen the river in flood coming over the bridge through the railings years ago

Friday 11th December 

 A change from landscape today it was a turn at wildlife ,A trip to see some think different 

kestrel on the hunt

We was watching these brilliant birds hunting and resting 

Then it was time for the big scavengers to come out and play , a family of 4

 took to the sky and entertained us with there antics 

Saturday 12th December 

 it was out with the flash brolly and set up for the grandchildren

 had a great time

Monday 14th December

 Phone call from my mate Alan Heely did a fancy a couple of hours down at the farm didn't need asking twice Alan as a great set up down there can recomend it 100%

  its a great place down there and Alan is always there to help out and offer advice , A down to earth chap one of the best , it got me wanting to do a bit more wildlife but the weather as been terrible here ,but you never know the landscape can pull me towards doing more work 
  i love all kinds of photographic work I'm no expert just like using the camera

Beeley Moor

  Had a ride up to Beeley Moor for some landscape this afternoon ok when i first got there 

Cloudy afternoon up on Beeley

 But it was great afternoon got what i wanted

 Stopped on the way Back when i saw this view often seen this gate way with the pool of rain water laying in it great place to get some photos of wild life in there

A wonder up the fields 

Saw the sky this afternoon so it was of up the fields for the sunset

Not my usual place where i go for my shots of the sun set thought i would try some where else for a change

 Great sunset tonight and it wasn't cold either

Alport Heights  on a windy Friday afternoon

when they say hang on to your hats i reckon they had been up to Alport Heights nr Wirksworth 

 Had a ride up to another of my favourite places near where i live the views up there are breath taking i saw the clouds forming at home and thought lets go so got there and was nearly blown over by the wind 

A Alport sunset enjoyed taking this the sun was just moving round 

 A bit less windy down by the stone 

This is the one shot i had in mind 

But this shot stole the show

St Peters church Belper

had my eye on this sort of photo for some time just waiting for the right moment to come along ,

 Had to go into Belper so i thought lets see if its the right time 

  It was

This was the first shot of the night wasn't sure about this one 

 so i walked down to another point where i had took some photos some time ago

 getting to like photographing in the night some think about the colours and tone of the photos

I like this photo i called it, Come on in my door is always open

So my trip down into Belper was worth it

A walk round my home town Ripley at night 

Had a idea of taking a few photos up and around Ripley at night doing some night shots,

So got the camera and tripod and set off 

First stop was the George inn just out side of the town centre  down Lowes hill

 great little pub ,great atmosphere great friendly pub and great beer,

 Next stop was the tap house on butterley hill a real ale pub got some great ales on tap all kept well

Across the road is the Nags head, great beer and entertainment 

 Then it was the Old Cock Inn this was one of the famous pubs in Ripley but it as been revamped ,Great place ,great staff can recommend in fact can recommend all these pubs on the article

The Keys ,used to be the old wreck but been renamed and revamped ,great place great staff and a great job of the new pub

The White Loin another great pub good ale, good entertainment on the market place 

The red lion great place ,great selection of ales and wines  and great prices ,

and you can always get a great meal here 

my last stop of the night was the Angel great little pub great beer and staff and great music 70s,80s 90s music and comfortable seating 

   just like to say i didn't have a drop to drink while i was taking these I'm leaving it till the 11th December for my usual works night out with my lads 

       hope you enjoyed the tour round my small town some of the pubs weren't  open as this was a monday so will leave those for another time
