sunsets and afterglow

a trip up to the stone circle at Wirksworth this week , thats what was planned 

 the star circle Wirksworth ,the sky was changing every minute

A bit of light coming up from over Derby

Then the dark skies went and the orange glow appeared , just packed up the stuff after i took this photo ,howling wind black sky moved in looks like we where in for a right storm it was 6-30 at night but seemed like mid night 

 a mono shot of the star circle 

    Then it was off home even had to have full beam on in the car as it was that dark,

 On the way home i saw the sky changing over Alport heights so a quick detor was made 

 Just had time for one quick photo before the lightning came but a great sunset , always some think to take up at the stone 

        the next night it was Belper river gardens for the after glow

This was on the spur of the moment decision , glad i went it was a great sight 

just got set up for the start of it 

used a 10 stop for this 

the after glow , then it was into the gardens for some low light photos

A walk on Cromford canal , Whatstandwell end

Mid week walk on the canal,  A nice morning sun was shinning so off we went for a short walk on the canal , Also it was Murphy's birthday so this was a regular thing 

We parked in the Whatstandwell station car park on the A6  £2-20 for the day a bargain over the station bridge to the canal this is the site which you see , don't think you would need a alarm clock living in this house

Had a walk up to this cottage on the side of the canal , great looking place must be one of the most photographed cottages in Derbyshire , Also a nice little cafe behind the cottage ,Robin hoods cafe in nice weather you can sit out side with a pot of tea and a slice of cake and look down on the canal

Over the bridge leads you to the quarry and the wood another pleasant walk and also the robin hood cafe

 This is on the side of side of the tow path nice little cottage all mod cons ,air conditioning ,running water , and a sky light roof , bargain ?

Then after the walk it was time for a snack at the family tree , can recommend this cafe as well , great menu ,great service and fresh food and the main thing Dogs are welcome Two cafes in a great location spoilt for choice

my favourite spot for the sun set

 had a walk over to my favourite spot for the sun set last night not much of a sun set but great coloured clouds 

 My favourite spot for a sun set over looking Aport heights no sun set as such but some great clouds

Stayed here for a while watching the clouds change shapes and colours 

 then moved further away for a different scene

and wasn't to be disappointed great show of colours and clouds 
 This was my last photo of the night I'm glad i stayed around for a bit longer i could see the sun starting to shine through   and was treated to this

It was another great sunset Thursday night spoilt for choice where to go then i remembered seeing some think on Wednesday afternoon when coming back from Ilam in the peak district 

 so chucked the bags and tripod in the car and shot off, Not far and hoped i would get there for the sunset ,

 This was the first stop but it just wasn't ready for what i had in mind ,

So off to the second spot i had in mind

Sorted my spot out and waited as i could see the sky changing colour this is what i was after ,One good shot here then back to the hay bails and field

This was the last photo of the night ,what a sky ,

   theres sunsets and sunsets but this one was one of the best i have seen ,as i looked across the valley  the sky was alive with this colour
