wet&wild day up the peak

Aside up the peak again , Stanage edge was the thought for today but nature said no way
Well the intentions where there but mother nature said no got out the car to take this photo had to hang onto the tripod and camera ,what a gale even the car was rocking in the wind
two shots and that was it I'm out of here ,So made my way down to the dams
To be treated by some great sky and clouds , Less windy down here thought id made a good move but it was to be short lived
clouds where moving in and spots of rain  so got stuck in and started taking some photos before the heavens opened up

was hoping to get down  and take some of the wall but the rain was really getting worse so  in the car and off home

on the way back a quick photo of the viaduct it was getting dark and the rain had turned into a misty drizzle , so that was it off home
a terrific sky while driving over Beely moor
Still i enjoyed the morning plenty of scope for next time up there
thanks all for viewing my bog
take care all till next time

black Friday at magpie mine

what a day , Had a ride up to Magpie mine in the peak district with my grandson Harvey he had never heard of it and the stories of it being haunted and was looking forward to it ,AS we got there another tog was leaving ,had a great chat with him nice chap he said don't worry about the black bull down on the path he's a soft as any think ,and he was even stroked him and Harvey took is photo with is iPhone , off we went  and was greeted by a great dark sky and clouds

Harvey at the magpie mine a very excited young lad just up is street
i took this thinking what a great time we where going to have here , had a spoke to soon

  A bit of mono

things where going great till a heard this scream ,Harvey was running round
shouting granddad ,help me first thought was that bull chasing him what with him wearing that orange coat , it appears he was taking a photo of this 6ft hole with a grill over it is iPhone had dropped down the hole
which was a hopeless task to get it out ,calmed him down and said don't worry we welcome back with some some tools and get it out

so one last photo and back home but called in at Caudwells mill for a offend a drink for Harvey

nice bit of cake as well

that was it back home only to return to Magpie mine in the dark , head torches and some amazing gadgets what Harvey's dad and is mate Daz had made up to get is iPhone out of this 6ft shaft
just one shot i took while every one was busy get the phone
and it was one happy little boy when is phone came up from the black depths of the shaft
well hope you enjoyed the photos and the story but will certainly be going back to Magpie mine for some night photos
thanks for viewing and take care all
