Calke Abbey , the house where time stood still

What a place mystery galore

Calke Abbey
every where you look theres a mysterious find waiting for you

Part of the kitchen just as it was found

some of the rooms inside Calk Abbey

And then a trip down the tunnels to the brew house ,this i thought was great
Entrance to the cellars and brew house
Barrel store for a guess just imagine all those barrels of ale down here

and of we go , brilliant place , and theres a light at the end of the tunnel

and another light at the end
a bit of greenery to brighten the place up

Some one beat me to it and drank the lot , can just imagine this in the days when it was a working brew house for workers and staff
well hope you enjoyed the blog of Calke Abbey theres so much to see and do here ,I can honestly recommend it
     so till the next time
Take care and enjoy the rest of the bank holiday

Magpie mine once again

Grand son Harvey wanted to go up
to Magpie mine once again i think he would live up there

so we went and had a great time

cow slips where certainly on show up there
a few different shots this time

explosive store, built round with thick walls and a light constructed roof so if there was any explosive going off the walls would contain it and the main force would go through the roof
plenty of history up here
A stow Astow or windlass remains

more cowslips
Harvey and Heather her first visit up there
me and the other half ,Heather
and me and Harvey
wild pansies quite a few where to found at the mine , stacks of wild life up there sky larks ,wagtails even stoats have been seen as well as owls

on  the way home couldn't resist one last shot till next time
some nice old barns up there
Thanks again for browsing through my blog hope you enjoyed it
