weekend at the lady bower dams 

4 of us spent four days up at the lady bower dams , oh and Murphy as well 

Weather was a mix rain at nights was looking for a sunset but alas it didn't happen but not to worry we still had a good time

 this was the scene which greeted us Friday night 

A bit of a dull night 

but come Sunday the sun came out ,so it was boots on back packs loaded up and of we went for a 7 mile stroll round the dam and up into the hills 

low cloud and sunshine can't complain 

 had a rest here before climbing through  the forest up to the tops and a nice walk with great views 

then it was down to the Dam road and back to the plug holes

a quick trip up to stanege edge 

Well it was the day on Stanege edge we started this annual day every year Since Barney Nicolas pet dog passed away he loved it up on the edge ,

 So it was a trip up there with Heather ,Nicola,myself and Murphy ,the rain kept off for us

Then it was time for our dinner at the famous grouse inn , so we made our way back down 

so yesterday it was Lumsdale, this morning Stanege edge wonder where next  will have to see what the week end brings ?

A MORNING AT LUMSDALE FALLS

Tuesday morning had a ride up to Lumsdale falls near  Matlock,a very warm morning so i thought a nice couple of hours by the falls should be nice a cool 

 One of the water falls at this great place , i decided to carry on and make my way up to the start of the falls and into the woods 

 Spent some time here sat by these little falls listening to the sounds of the water and watching the wild life , then it was time to get the gear out and start taking some photos 

Time for a move so made way back down the track 

 And came to these stepping stones across the stream 

Some lovely reflections in the water 

Carried on following the stream down 

The first lake , i heard there was three lakes but one had dried up and was overgrown don't know if that was true 

these where the workers cottages when the mills where i hive of industry some great history up here 

This is the second lake before the falls start 

Old mill workings ,there was building work going on so my plans of photographing the old buildings where a no, no 

Bit of debris in the falls 

 then after this photo that was it , dog walkers and i was getting photo bombed by people walking about in front of me
