a afternoon on the Ripley greenway

Great afternoon for a walk again so went for a walk on the Ripley green way , done part of it quite a few times but this afternoon fancied a different part

Part of the walk 

the start of the Green way ,                        

                                                                               

out of the mud and on to some firm walking 

then it was into the wood for a look round

lovely colours in here 

a nice bit of a detour to see this wood

over looking the trail of of Lowes hill

then it was a call at the George inn for a nice pint of cool lemonade 

great place for a drink and great company as well can recommend

short walk down to foot path and back to the start of the green way a nice 6 mile stroll , then back home

don't Know if i will be out for before Christmas so heres wishing a great Christmas and a great new year to every one

afternoon walk on the Mid -shires way

What a great afternoon for a walk , was debating different places to go , But glad i picked this one ,on top of the Chevin at Belper ,rumour as it Dick Turpins ghost as been seen riding is horse black bess on there at night time 

 i didn't see him on my walk

looking back from the start ,was always told by a young lady photographer Diane Jones always look back you never know what  you miss,

Belper down in the valley and bessie loan wood on the hill in the distance

the old firing range still find spent bullets up here 

love this part of the walk , my friend Sarah Langton another great photographer spends a lot of time up here and i cant blame her;,

Belper and beyond 

Nearly at the end of a great walk and a great place to spend ,,and full of history 

only stopped for a chat and mentioned i like mint sauce and they all ran off ?

 well hope you enjoyed the walk with me , i did  buzzards , squirrels , birds singing , what a great afternoon certainly a mother visit next year is called for , 

   my old school teacher Cyril Spencer wrote  book on the Mid shires way ive got a signed copy of it , must find it ,

sun set and fog

saw the sky had got a nice colour in it so loaded up and set of for Crich lane woods in Belper one of my old haunts when i was a kid and a favourite place for some great photos when the light is right 

 last shot of the day when the fog moved in

 Started at the top of the woods ,nice bit of sun light coming through the trees and lighting the golden leaves up

moved down to the bottom of the wood for the last shots  with the sun set and fog ,the sky was changing every minute 

view over Belper with the chevin hills in the back ground 

  what a sight to see colours ,mist ,glad i made the effort to get out and go to this location

A VERY COLD AFTERNOON UP AT ALPORT 

Had a ride up to Alport Heights was greeted by a film crew shooting a advert for Suburo all terrain vehicle that had been up there for over 3 hours doing a 3 minute shoot be interesting to see when its on the tv ,

 this is what i wanted but boy was it cold id only been out the car and set up my fingers where dropping off 

Still some snow lying about and roads where bit icy as well on the hills in the distance in the peaks there was snow still there and the clouds looked like it was bringing snow 

but some ones got to take photos 

Cold but it was worth it 

that was it , off home for hot drink and to thaw out 

 but you can't stop in for the weather

OUT AND ABOUT

 Fancied a ride out Wednesday afternoon after a busy morning so went up on to the tops at Tansley on the way from Crich stopped for a few photos in the snow

Always taking a photo of these trees  so why not today

A nice afternoon but it was a bit cool in the morning it was -8 degrees when we was out

Riber castle in the distance 

Some think about trees when they stand on there own 

Was taking this and the sun just came out from behind the clouds and gave me a bit of sunshine 

  Then it was of for a coffee at the Scottish nursery garden centre , Which i can recommend there food , Steakand kidney, ale pie,Veg ,gravy, mashed potato , more than i could eat ,Heather had quiche ,salad ,a nice finish for the afternoon out 

   So Take care every one ,and keep warm
