A cold and frosty morning at the Magpie mine

Thursday morning Mike Swain and my self had a ride up to Sheldon above Bakewell to visit the Magpie mine which was a lead mine which stopped working in the 1950s ,
A very cold and frosty morning we had been thereabout 10 minutes and our fingers where frozen , that cold i couldn't get stuff out of my camera bag as there was no feeling in my fingers ,
But no gain with out gain as they say but it was worth it
there so much prospects for taking  photos up there
Just lately i seem to like working in mono just some thing about it
Full view of the Magpie mine , very bleak up there the sun was shinning but frost was all around us , the water in the puddles was frozen i think the weather beat us in the end
Had a great couple of hours up there , Then it was off to find a cafe for a hot drink , and boy did we need one
          thanks for viewing my blog
             till next time take care

Thursday morning down at the feeding station

Had a morning with the wild life , Weather looked a bit risky for landscape and i fancied a change ,
So off with the wild life set up seed, nuts, and paste ,
A frequent visitor was this Jay lovely coloured bird he was coming in for the peanuts
This little blue tit was busy after the feed , felt sorry for the birds down there i was freezing so i knew what they must have felt like ,
Glad to see they where getting some feed down them
Nuthatches love the seed and paste they where quick darting about
it was great to see these little chaps about , in fact had a great morning
great morning down there it was change from landscape and it started to rain so would have been a bit of a wash out up in the hills
so next week will have to see what the weathers like  till then
Bye and take care every one

Tuesday morning snow scenes

had a ride up into the peak district this morning over towards Buxton for a change  no snow down here at home but as i got up further to buxton you could see it on the hills where i was heading
the sky was changing every time i stopped for a photo
saw this so it was a quick stop and out with camera
A snowy Cat and fiddle , Had a few pints in here when I've come off the moors in my younger days and slept in the back of the out house as well when it was time to go
Track leading across the moors from the cat and fiddle and a cloudy sky to go with it
Over looking Buxton on the way back from the cat
Another view across to Buxton from just below the cat and fiddle

this was another scene on the way back home ,
Had a great morning at a different place but as Arnie says i will be Back, and i certainly will
thanks for viewing , and take care

wingfield manor ,

I promised Harvey i would take him and thought won't bother taking the camera, Glad i did
He loved it i think we could have stayed down there all day
Got this one grandad  , he really enjoyed it the drivers where talking and waving to him and the guard on the return journey was great he was telling him where he had worked what trains he had been on, A great day was had by all, and me i enjoyed it as well , i can see York station the next trip out with him
